Importing weekly rankings into Excel

It is possible to import weekly rankings from this site into Excel. First, you need the Great Radish’s ImportRanginks.xls spreadsheet. This can be obtained at: http://www.mechinv.org/files/TheGreatRadish/Exports_And_Imports/ .

This spreadsheet was originally designed to get rankings from TMF. It can work with this site also.

Directions from the spreadsheet itself:

First, bring up the desired rankings post using Internet Explorer or Netscape. Next, in IE or Netscape, type ctrl-A ctrl-C (that is, hold down the Ctrl key and type A then C; this will select the entire page and copy it to the Windows clipboard). Finally, click the button above. The rankings will be loaded into a new workbook. Close the ImportRankings workbook once the macro finishes running.

This site is made available through my Verizon Business DSL connection. I have had problems with it since around Oct 18th. Sixteen hours of downtime later, I have a call out tomorrow. I hope to have the issue resolved.

Screen Usage Survey

I have just created survey that asks two questions:

What screens do you follow?
What screens do you invest with?

I publish 232 screens. Some of them are great, some are for historical value, some may be data mining and curve fitting, some are just trash.

I am just hoping to get an idea of what screens are actually followed and used.

Wednesday, September 30th, Edison will be doing work in my neighborhood. They plan on possible power outages. Best case, this site will be up all day because the power outages will be shorter than the UPS charge. Worst case, this site will be down from 8:30 AM PDT to 7:00 PDT.

The first Labor Day in the United States was celebrated on September 5, 1882 in New York City.^[1] In the aftermath of the deaths of a number of workers at the hands of the US military and US Marshals during the 1894 Pullman Strike, President Grover Cleveland put reconciliation with Labor as a top political priority. Fearing further conflict, legislation making Labor Day a national holiday was rushed through Congress unanimously and signed into law a mere six days after the end of the strike.^[2] Cleveland was also concerned that aligning a US labor holiday with existing international May Day celebrations would stir up negative emotions linked to the Haymarket Affair.^[3] All 50 U.S. states have made Labor Day a state holiday.
